When we first went out to Arizona to learn about the model we wanted to create out here in NJ for our home for seniors, we had a vision.
We didnโt just want to create a place where seniors could age comfortably.
Thatโs important and comfort is one of our specialities at the Lambertville Estate.
But, we wanted to provide a sort of time machine, making our residents go back to some of the best periods in their life and relive those feelings with other fellow seniors.
How can that be done?
Well, it canโt be done at the big box facilities, thatโs one of our unique advantages, our small size.
We plan to do it through a few different ways, some of which I will share now.
Food - Everyone has a favorite meal. It could be from when you were a young child to when you were in college or whatever. The point is, that meal became one of your favorites at a particular time that โlife was greatโ for you. We are small enough that we plan on offering up our residents favorite dishes a few times per week.
Music - This is a big one. What gets fired together gets wired together in our brain. Favorite songs and music from an era brings back instant memories and positive emotions. Music is one of the most powerful ways that we have to change our state of mood.
Movies and games - With this category, we know that we all have our favorite games and movies that once again, can make us feel a certain way almost instantly. Why not show black and white movies with movie stars from the 50โs and 60โs? Why not play Bingo with era specific music in the background?
This is all a part of our vision.
Nostalgic moments.
Itโs the closest thing we can get to a time machine.
And, by proper use of it, just one more thing that makes the Lambertville Estate so unique.
